2024 Harvest Outreach Intern
The Harvest Outreach Intern (HOI) will be key in supporting a smooth, efficient harvest season. The primary objective is to assist our Harvest & Programs Coordinator (HPC). This person must be highly organized, have excellent communication skills and be comfortable in collaboration with our small team. CFR’s fruit harvests typically take place in mid-August until the first hard freeze, which can occur in October or November. During this time, the HOI will support the HPC by facilitating fruit drop-offs and/or pick-ups with partner agencies, monitoring our two Boulder storage hub sites, and representing CFR at community outreach events.
Outside of these core duties, the HOI role is able to be tailored to specific experience you may be looking for in order to support your professional development goals. This may include data analysis, social media management, marketing, or exposure to hands-on environmental education regarding Boulder’s urban forest, fruit tree care, and various food preservation methods.
The expectation is that the HOI will work up to 10 hours per week during the harvest season (August-December as it works with CU’s fall semester), and hours/schedules are somewhat flexible. This is a remote position, however, candidates must be based in the Boulder area to easily access our local storage units, transport equipment and fruit, and to support local harvest
events.
