Community Fruit Rescue warmly welcomes groups, businesses, and organizations looking to make a positive impact together through a fun and engaging harvest event. Volunteering as a group with CFR is a fantastic way to strengthen team bonds, give back to the community, and help us reduce food waste while providing fresh, healthy fruit to those in need. Whether you're a corporate team, a community organization, or a group of friends, we'd love to work with you to organize a group harvest for you and your team to make a difference in our community.
Who is this for?Thank you for your interest in harvesting as a group with Community Fruit Rescue! This form is for those seeking to schedule a group volunteer event during our harvest season. This applies to:
|
How does it work?Your group will work with a CFR Harvest Leader to pick fruit for about 2-3 hours at a fruit tree site in Boulder County. Our Harvest Leader will walk you through all the protocols and best practices to ensure a safe and fun harvest and support you as needed throughout the harvest event. We supply all equipment, all you have to do is show up! At the end of the harvest, your team will help us weigh and sort the fruit into fruit for humans, fruit for animals, and compost. You can even take a portion of the fruit home with you! All remaining fruit will be distributed to local food pantries, animal sanctuaries, and more.

Important information:
- Scheduling group harvest requests involves several steps: finding a suitable site to accommodate the number of volunteers, coordinating with the tree steward, your group, and our harvest leaders to determine a mutually convenient time and date, and ensuring the fruit will be ripe and ready for picking.
- Scheduling & coordination: This process can be complex and time-consuming, so we ask for your flexibility and patience to ensure a successful and enjoyable harvest for all parties involved. Our harvest requests come in on a daily basis, so we may not know about harvesting opportunities more than a couple weeks in advance.
- Harvest Locations: We do not harvest in full-sized orchards or farms. Therefore, our harvest sites that require a large group of volunteers are limited.
- Donation request: To cover the costs of organizing this program and coordinating group requests, we kindly ask for a donation between $100-$500 depending on the status of your group.
- Volunteering: In order to volunteer as a fruit picker, each individual from your group must register as a CFR volunteer and sign our waiver.
The more information you provide in the form below, the better we can match your group with the perfect harvesting experience. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm!
