Register today for our upcoming tree care workshop on January 24th!

Throughout our harvesting efforts, we notice that many of the trees we work with each fall could use some TLC throughout the rest of the year, too! Acts of care taken now and over the winter will help ensure health during the next growing season. This workshop will focus on how to prune back branches and encourage strong branching structure that will promote air circulation and stimulate robust fruit production. Before trees leaf out (late January through February) is the best time to prune. Please note that we will focus this workshop primarily on apple and pear trees, and will briefly look at some stone fruit trees.

This workshop will last for two hours. For those with additional questions, an eagerness to continue conversations, or curiosity about our organizations, you're welcome to stick around for a bit after the workshop. We will provide light snacks, warm beverages, and all the necessary tools.

❄️ COLD WEATHER PLAN ❄️
Due to the forecasted cold and snow, the workshop will take place indoors in the Benevolence barn, where we’ll stay warm and comfortable. We’ll bring in sample branches for close-up learning and hands-on practice, along with young trees so everyone can see pruning principles in action.
For those who are comfortable heading outside briefly, we’ll wrap up the indoor portion a bit early and offer an optional short orchard tour and pruning demonstration. Participants are welcome to join at their discretion. Please plan to bundle up with warm winter layers and boots if you’d like to head outdoors. We’ll provide all tools and materials—just bring a notepad if you’d like to jot down tips.
